Paint Pots ‘Move and Groove’ Book & CD

Children love to sing along with the songs they hear on the cd while at the same time playing out the actions which are illustrated in the book of ‘Paint Pots’ favourite songs. It’s perfect to listen to at home and in the car. This cd is famous for great feedback from fathers in particular commenting on how it’s the only children’s cd they are allowed to play on a long car journey. In addition collection a small basket of props to use with the songs such as ‘handbells’ ‘finger puppets’ ‘a scarf’ and maybe a small teddy. All these ideas go into making an intimate time with your child. ‘Move and Groove’ helps with:

Listening skills - Finger/hand movement - Memory
Hand/Eye Co-ordination - Have Fun!

Other Top Tips

Always a favourite – dressing up box/basket with a collection of different hats is a great way to encourage role-play with imagination and drama.

Another favourite – free dancing to different types of world and classical music will set their creative mind in play – add a silk scarf and away you go!

Arts – ideas From Your Kitchen Cupboard

Why not experiment with food colouring with q tips

- Draw on fabric
- Use with icing sugar to make ‘crystal paintings’

Why not use black board paint to paint a section of all or board where the child can use chalks and wipe off?
You could also use wallpaper lining for children to draw on, allowing them to freely create picture stories on large scale material.
To encourage your child’s mixing and learning of colours an easel and paints are a great way to bring out the artist within them.
